Cowen Software Ltd - Contract and Software Development

Working together with LSA Technology Ltd of Marple we have implemented website projects for clients of both LSA and Cowen Software using development tools designed by ourselves in PHP / MySql / Javascript. The hosting and graphic design for the projects was provided by LSA.

Know Edge Consortium (PHP and MySql)
The Know Edge Consortium required a database of documents, displayed to their prospective customers, to be updated online by their own people. Cowen Software designed and implemented the software to allow authorised users to upload and maintain the document database, and the software to display the lists of documents in the relevant categories. Proven Winners (PHP and MySql)
A client of LSA required a private database of images, to be entered by authorised database administrators by date and location, and accessed by authorised users only.
Cowen Software developed software to maintain the image library, automatically deriving thumbnails from the uploaded images, and to provide the access for the authorised users.

Chamber of Commerce (Access and VBScript)
A client of LSA required a facility to allow the public to search an Access database. We developed a search engine in VBScript which allowed the user to search on various criteria and return lists of matches. Click here to see the search engine

Destinations Holiday Network (XML/XSL and VBScript / Access and VBScript))
The client had experienced problems with their previous hosting company. When LSA took over the hosting two critical websites did not work, and certain files appeared to be missing. We rebuilt the Access / VBScript website over a weekend, and debugged a faulty XML/XSL/VBScript based website over the next few days. We later enhanced the XML/XSL/VBScript website with new functionality.

e-bshop
We took over this ebook website in a somewhat disorganised state, with some sections of the online selling pages non-functional. We redesigned the structure of the site, while preserving the look and feel of the system, to provide a reliable and maintainable system. Click to see the e-bshop website.
